Does Underwater GPS need calibration?

When we go out to use our Underwater GPS system, do we need to calibrate it in any form to achieve full accuracy?

The short answer is no. Underwater GPS does not need to be calibrated like you are perhaps used to from other types of positioning systems.

  • You may choose to setup the offset distance between the Antenna and the Topside housing to perfectly reflect your physical setup.
  • If you are using the separate Receivers instead of the Antenna, you will have to measure the internal distance between the Receivers.
  • If you want to use the built-in compass in the Topside, you should calibrate it by following the three-step guide provided under the "Settings" tab in the GUI.
